Update Sonim XP3 and XP5S via QR Code

Attached is a QR Code for 32.0 to be used with the Sonim XP3 (3800) and XP5S (5800). Sonim recommends updating via the Sonim Cloud. The devices must have a camera to use the install process. 

 

This process is not currently available for the XP3plus and XP5plus.  Sonim Cloud accounts are strongly recommended for the plus series devices. 

 

Open the device settings and select Sonim Scout.  Then choose Sonim Setup Wizard.

 

The camera will open.  Point at the QR code and select "SCAN."  

 

 
The Sonim Setup Wizard will show the app downloading and installing.
 

 

Confirm the assignment of the PTT button to ESChat. The wizard will then show a check next to the app and you will need to choose "OK" at the bottom of the screen. 

 

Once the install is complete, return to Applications and select the ESChat icon.  Manually enter the ESChat Activation Code associated with this device using the touchpad and select "Activate."  If this device has been activated via IMEI, then activation will complete automatically.   

 

ESChat is now ready for use.  After this initial sign in, ESChat may be opened by navigating to the Applications tab, or by pressing and releasing the side programmable key.
