Activate ESChat
There are two ways to install and activate ESChat on an Android device. The following contains instructions to activate via an SMS or email activation message or manually via an activation code. The initial activation process includes a series of permission prompts, which need to be allowed for optimal functioning.
Activation Message
Use this method if the device has access to an email account or a valid phone number, SMS text message service, and a cellular carrier signal. The company must also have the send text option enabled in order to send the code via text. The device will need an active Google Play Services account in order to download the app. Follow the procedure outlined below to finish the installation process with just a few taps on the device. For best results, use an LTE signal to complete initial activation.
Open Message: Tap on the email or SMS message received from ESChat to open the activation link. |
Download ESChat: This will open the Google Play site for the ESChat application download. Select Install. If ESChat has already been downloaded, press "Activate ESChat." |
Activate ESChat: Return to the Activation message, and select the “Activate ESChat” link. ESChat will then complete the activation process. |
Manual Activation
Install ESChat. Open the Google Play Store, search for ESChat, and select "Install." |
Open and Enter Activation Code: Select "Open" and type the Activation Code provided by ESChat or the Customer Administrator. The code is not case sensitive. Press "Activate." |
Device Permission Prompts
Follow a series of device permission prompts to complete the activation process. Permission prompts may vary according to device type and OS. It's important to allow or accept all of the prompts.
Data Usage Consent: During the initial install, press "Accept" when prompted by the Data Usage Consent screen to continue with the app. ESChat does not store or sell information. Declining the Data Usage Consent will prevent the app from working on the device. |
Battery optimization and phone usage: Please allow the following permission settings to ensure proper functionality of the application. |
Audio and location: ESChat must have permission to use the microphone in order to send responses to other users. This permits the application to use the device's mic upon the application's discretion. ESChat must also have access to the device’s location data. |
Final permissions: Declining the required permission settings will result in additional message prompts when the application attempts a function that requires authorization. Any of these permissions may be managed in the device settings. |
ESChat installation and activation is now complete, and will open on the default Contacts Tab unless the device is configured to have a different default screen. |
