ESChat Web Client Beta Overview
The ESChat Web Client Beta is a new web based application to replace the PC Client version. The Web Client Beta is only available on Windows PCs The web client matches the iOS smartphone app with tabs for contacts, channels, messages and recents on the left side of the screen with the map shown on the right. The map display is configurable for the type of display and the contacts selected. The Web Client Beta operates exclusively in Channels mode and upon download, is ready to operate using default device speakers or configured mic accessories.The ESChat Web Client Beta may be installed on any Windows PC or laptop using Chrome or MS Edge.
Settings and Configuration Menu
Click on the blue icon in the top corner to reach the Settings menu.
Select Settings.
Select alternate input and output speakers, adjust external PTT settings, location, and display.
Channels
Channels are displayed in alphabetical order. Send a message, view members, check location for each channel by clicking on the icons for each channel.
Click on the down arrow icon under the channel name and status to expand the menu and customize audio settings for an individual channel to override settings for the entire web client.
Contacts
The contacts tab arranges contacts in alphabetical order, according to availability. Contacts can be marked with the star icon to mark them as favorites so they stay at the top of the list despite available. Press on the information circle to bring up the secondary menu. Make 1:1 and ad hoc calls from this tab.
Messages
As with the message tab in the smartphone app, read and reply to received messages.
Recent Calls
View all recent calls and, if applicable, listen to recent calls via Client Side Playback.
