ESChat and Android Notification Settings
There are configurable options for notifications for new messages, missed calls, and whether the device is online, offline, or in DnD. Each time your device receives a notification, that notification dot displays on the app tile on your home screen. You can turn off the notification dot that appears on the app tile. Go to Settings > Apps > ESChat > Notifications. Select Allow Notification Dot and switch this setting to off. This is also where you may configure the notifications for all ESChat activity.
Notifications may be turned on or off in totality or configured according to missed calls, new messages, or presence updates. There may be slight differences between Android devices in the appearance of this screen, but each of these options will be available. In this example, the notifications are turned on for missed calls and new messages, and the notification dot is switched off. |
Android OS8 and newer allows the user to customize the app notifications based on Status, Calls, and Messages as shown in the image shown above. Each notification channel can be turned to on/off, and the sound vibration, and other notifications may be customized as well.
Older versions of Android only allow the user to turn the notifications on or off.
