Initial Setup
A new JPS RSP-2 has a factory-default IP address of 192.168.1.200, with no set gateway or DNS. To begin setup and configuration, you will need to navigate to that address from a PC through your web browser. To do that, your computer must be on the same network as the Z2.
If you are unsure how to put your computer on the same network as the Z2, work with your IT administrator. Specific information for Windows 10 and Windows 11 are listed below.
Configure Network for Windows 10
- Open "Settings" and choose "Network & Internet."
- Choose "Ethernet," then "Ethernet" again.
- Under "IP assignment," click "Edit."
- Change the drop-down from "Automatic (DHCP)" to "Manual."
- Click the radio button under IPv4 to change it from "Off" to "On."
- Fill in the boxes with the following values:
- IP address: 192.168.1.199
- Subnet 255.255.255.0
- Click "Save."
Configure Network for Windows 11
Note: Due to the evolving nature of Windows 11, these instructions may vary slightly from your experience.
- Open "Settings" and choose "Network & Internet."
- Choose "Ethernet."
- Under "Ethernet," across from "IP assignment," click "Edit."
- Change the drop-down from "Automatic (DHCP)" to "Manual."
- Click the radio button under IPv4 to change it from "Off" to "On."
- Fill in the boxes with the following values:
- IP address: 192.168.1.199
- Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
- Click "Save."
Once your computer is on the same network, connect an Ethernet cable (minimum of CAT5E or better) from your PC's network/Ethernet port to the Ethernet port on the Z2 and navigate to the factory default IP address listed above 192.168.1.200.
Log into the Z2
Launch a web browser (we recommend Google Chrome) and type in 192.168.1.200 in the address bar.
At the login screen, use the factory default credentials listed below when prompted.

Update to Latest RSP Z2 Version
After the login screen, the Z2 management page will display a “Release Notes” pop up screen similar to the one shown below.
Please take note of the Version information provided. The latest firmware version available from JPS is 4.8.1. If the version listed on the pop-up screen is less than the current version as shown, the firmware on the device must be updated before proceeding with the configuration process. View JPS instructions for updating the device's firmware.
Once the firmware has been updated, log back into the Z2 management page, and the Release Notes pop-up screen should now show the updated version number. If the pop-up screen shows the correct updated firmware version, simply click the “Close” button on the lower right. Select Don’t Show This Version Again to prevent seeing this message in the future.
Next, you will now be prompted to choose a pre-configured layout similar to the image shown below.
Independent Passthrough
Choose the “Independent Passthrough” option. Then select Settings, then Resources. (NOTE: Are there immages for this)
Once you select the option in the Z2 management menu, select Settings, then Resources.
In the Independent Passthrough layout:
