ESChat Web Client Overview
The ESChat Web Client is a new web based application to replace the PC Client version. The web client matches the smartphone app with tabs for contacts, channels, messages and recents. The map display is configurable. The client operates in Channels mode and is ready to operate using laptop speakers or may be configured to work with other audio sources. The ESChat Web Client may be installed on any PC using Chrome or MS Edge.
Shown below, the default channels tab. Connection status, DnD icon, and navigation menu are along the top.
Settings and Configuration Menu
Open the navigation menu by clicking on the blue icon in the top corner.
From this menu, select Settings.
Select alternate input and output speakers, adjust external PTT settings, location, and display.
Channels
Channels are displayed in alphabetical order. Send a message, view members, check location for each channel by clicking on the icons for each channel.
Click on the carrot icon to expand the menu and customize audio for an individual channel to override settings for the entire web client.
Contacts
The contacts tab arranges contacts in alphabetical order and according to availablility. Contacts can be marked with the star icon to mark them as favorites so they stay at the top of the list despite available. Press on the information circle to (confirm secondary menu items- . Make 1:1 and ad hoc calls from this tab. (Confirm post 1:1 and ad hoc call behavior, will the calls appear on the channels tab like android?)
Messages
As with the message tab in the smartphone app, read and reply to received messages.
Recent Calls
View all recent calls and, if applicable, listen to recent calls via Client Side Playback.
