About ESChat for Government (FedRAMP)
ESChat for Government
ESChat for Government is a hardened version of the ESChat broadband communication, collaboration, and interoperability platform. ESChat for Government has been built for FedRAMP (Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program) requirements, which leverages NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5 standards.
ESChat for Government is a secure broadband Push-to-Talk (PTT) communication system that facilitates secure PTT communication, multimedia messaging, and a Common Operating Picture (COP) within and between agencies for mutual aid or tactical purposes. ESChat for Government also supports external interfaces, including Land Mobile Radio (LMR), dispatch consoles, and logging recorders.
ESChat for Government offers enhanced privacy and cybersecurity controls, meeting stringent security and compliance requirements of public sector agencies and commercial customers who operate in highly regulated industries.
Moving to the FedRAMP Environment
Existing ESChat GovCloud customers will have a scheduled transition to the FedRAMP portal. The new portal will have all of their users, channels and templates replicated to match their existing use. Each end user will have to sign in to the new environment.
Ensure Devices are Updated to the Minimum Supported Version
Ensuring a smooth transition involves all users and devices being on the minimum supported client application versions, that end users have the ability to sign out, and ensuring that all users sign into the new environment. Users who do not sign into the app with the added three character prefix will not be able to communicate with users that do.
Confirm Migration Schedule
Make sure that you are aware of the scheduled migration date, and that your users are aware of what they will need to do in order to sign out of their current GovCloud account and into the new ESChat for Government portal.
Configure Devices in the Admin Portal to Allow Deactivation
Admins must allow each device to deactivate or sign out, in order to sign into the new environment. All Feature Key templates must be configured to permit deactivation or sign out. This allows each individual user to sign out of the application, then sign into the new environment after manually adding the three character prefix to the existing activation code in order to sign in. Review templates here, or you can also call 805.541.5044 ext.3 for immediate assistance from our 24/7 Customer Support Team, or email support@eschat.com to open a trouble ticket on your behalf.
You can find more FedRAMP activation instructions below, which are also available in our public Knowledge Base and as tutorial videos on our website.
Signing Devices into the FedRAMP Environment
