Ad hoc Barge Calls
To make an ad hoc barge call, select up to 128 available contacts. Upon call connection, your initial voice burst will "Barge" through to the other recipients' phones.
From the contacts tab, highlight the number of contacts you wish to call. Ad hoc calls can have as many as 128 members. Press "Push to Talk." |
The call will show at the top of the channel screen as an ad hoc call. Note that the call widget pops up and the PTT screen indicates that you have the floor. Tap on the call widget to expand. When you have finished transmitting, release the floor. |
Now, another member of the call may take the floor, or the call may idle timeout. To manually end the call, press the RX box as shown. |
Ad hoc Calls via a Contact Search
Create a list of contacts for an ad hoc call using the search bar. An ad hoc call may contain as many as 128 members.
Start at the contacts screen. Type in the first letters of your intended contact. You'll see a suggested list of names appear. |
Highlight the intended contact. Press the back arrow to return to the contact screen. Repeat this process to select another contact. |
Push "Push to Talk" to initiate call. After the initial grant tone, begin speaking. |
Expand the call widget view the in-call list. End the call by pressing the RX button or let it idle timeout. |
Ad hoc Barge Calls via the Map
To make an ad hoc Barge call using the map screen, begin at the contact list, highlight the contacts you wish to call, long press to reach the secondary menu, and select recipients by scrolling and zooming on the map view. Press the geo select button to select them on the map. Press "Push to Talk." Upon call connection, your initial voice burst will "barge" through to the recipients' phones.
Begin at the Contacts Tab. Select up to 128 contacts. Long press and select "Show on Map." Select the Map View. Scroll and Zoom to select Contacts. Press "Push to Talk." When you hear the grant tone, begin speaking. Release "Push to Talk" when finished. |
Press the geo select button. All the selected contacts on your screen will show as a blue check mark. Note: depending on your cluster threshold, the blue check may not be visible). Press "Push to Talk." |
In- call operation: all participants are shown on the call widget. Current speaker pin will display as aqua. To request the floor, press and hold "Push to Talk." |
To exit the call, expand the call widget and deselect "RX" on the call. |
