Global Bulk Load Tools and Templates
Server versions 4.12.2 and newer contain new Global Bulk loading tools and templates. From the Customer Admin standpoint, the bulk add tools are now located at the customer level rather than previous portal versions' department. The other major difference is that the files are uploaded from an .xlsx file instead of a .csv file. as before. When you download the template, it should open in excel as an .xlsx file.
Open the Bulk Load Tab
Open the bulk loads tab by clicking on the tab in between logout and change password. If you do not see the Bulk Load tab as shown here, your portal has not been configured for this type of bulk load. Click here for bulk load tools at the department level.
View Bulk Load Tab
This opens the Bulk Load tab. There are two main tabs at this level: Bulk Loads and Templates. To close this, just select the Close Bulk Load tab and you will be returned to the previous screen. The screen below shows that there have not been any bulk adds applied to this customer.
Select the Templates tab.
This opens to the list of the 15 available template options. Not all templates apply to every deployment.
Select a Template
When you have chosen your template, click on the link of the right hand column. If you have Google Chrome as your default browser, you will need to download the template into Excel.
Complete the required columns for each entry in the template. All templates must complete the Action, Customer and Department fields, along with any fields that contain a drop down field. Other fields don't always require entry if they aren't relevant to your download. Be sure to pay attention to any rules or conventions for each column. Save the file as a name for later retrieval.
Be sure to enter phone numbers without any spaces, dashes, or () symbols. Any extra fields or symbols will result in an error message on the bulk load.
Add and Submit your Template
Go back to the portal and select "Bulk Loads." Then select Add.
In the popup window, create a name for your bulk load.
Our example is for "Dept 5 Users." Then, click Add. Clicking Add prompts you to add the saved file.
For most bulk loading cases, we recommend that you select "Submit and Run." You'll be able to view the status of your bulk load.
