iOS 1:1 Barge Calls
A 1:1 call begins with selecting an available contact from your contact list, or the tab that on the left side of your screen as you view it. Your device may not be configured for 1:1 operation, in which case you may not be able to view the contacts tab. Confirm with your Customer Administrator. Once a call is initiated, your initial voice burst will "barge" through to the recipient's phone.
Contact List Method
To initiate a 1:1 Barge call, select a single recipient from the Contacts list. Upon call connection, your initial voice burst will "barge" through to the recipient's phone.

Select the intended contact. Press "Push to Talk," which turns green once a contact is selected. Upon hearing the grant tone, begin speaking. Release Push to talk when finished. |
Expand the call widget to view details of the call, including the other speaker and who has the floor. You may tap the the name of the call in the expanded widget to view an in-call list, shown below. |
From the in-call list, you may let the call idle timeout to end, or you may tap the back button, and press "RX" to manually end the call. |
1:1 Calls and the Map Tab
To make a 1:1 Barge Call using the map, select a single recipient from the map. Upon call connection, your initial voice burst will "barge" through to the recipient's phone.
Begin at the contacts list. Select your intended contact, swipe the contact to the right and press the map pin icon. Additionally, you may press the blue information circle to reach the secondary menu and select "Show on map." |
The map screen will appear and the contact you selected to show will appear as the green pin. Press the PTT screen to initiate the call. |
The call widget will appear to indicate the initiation of the call. Release the PTT screen when you are done transmitting. Tap the call widget to expand. To go back to the map during the call, tap the map tab. |
To end the call, let it idle timeout, or press "back" to the expanded call widget and deselect RX. |
1:1 Calls from a Contact Search
You can make a 1:1 call from a contact search and avoid scrolling down a long list of contacts. Select your intended recipient from the suggested list of contacts. Then, proceed with the call. Contact searches bring up results of users with priority levels that are the same, below, or one level higher than your own priority. A priority 3 user's search will yield results for contacts with priority levels 4, 3,2,1 or 0. For more information about user priority, click here.
Tap the search icon to bring up the the search option. Select "Filter Contacts." |
Type the first letters of your search. See the list of relevant contacts pop up. |
