PC Client and Group Calls
By default, the Groups Tab will display the names of all groups to which the user belongs. A group is a collection of contacts that may be called as a unit. When called, all available members become part of a Push to Talk (PTT) call. ESChat supports eight different types of groups. PC Clients should be configured in the Admin Portal to show groups, even if the other devices in the enterprise are configured to show channels.
Initiate a Group Call
To make a group call, click the group name, then the Push to Talk button. All available members of the group will be called at once.
The resulting screen will display the presence icons of all members of the PTT call. The icon changes to indicate which member has the floor. When you wish to leave the PTT call, click End Call.
*Note: The remaining members of the group call will continue the group call until the idle logout time has been reached, or the call is manually ended by the individual member in the call.
You may also create a group Ad Hoc call from the Contacts tab by highlighting multiple contact names (ctrl + click), and then clicking on the Push to Talk button.
