Program the PTT Button Options for the PC Client
External PTT options (such as a foot switch) may be used as a PTT button. You may "customize" a combination of keyboard keys to act as the PTT button instead of using the default spacebar. External PTT devices facilitate flexibility, as they operate with ESChat in the background or when minimized. This allows a pc client user to multi-task across multiple windows and applications.
To reach the External PTT Options tab, click on the ESChat tab and select "Options." Inside the resulting pop up window, click on the External PTT Options tab.
To set a specific key combo (not all combinations will work as some keys, such as the Windows key, have specific functions tied to Windows)
In the "Key" field select the key you would like to use as a PTT talk button shortcut.
The check boxes below regulate any additional keys that you need to press simultaneously.
For example, if the 1 key is entered in the key field and the box is checked for Shift, then pressing Shift and the 1 together becomes the PTT button. Be sure to choose "Accept" to save the changes. In the Admin Portal, be sure to set the Feature Keys of the PC Client to show groups, even if every other device is set to show channels.
