Make a 1:1 Call on a D-Pad Device

A 1:1 call begins at the contacts tab.  From the channels tab, navigate to the contacts tab and select your contact to highlight.  To learn more about ESChat Contact and Presence Icons, please click here. 

 

Press the PTT button to initiate the call and begin speaking. Release the PTT button when you are finished speaking.


  

 

The call will display as an open channel on the Channel screen.   

 

Long press on the call to bring up the secondary menu.  From here you may send a message or view the in-call screen shows that the call is between the user Brander.Maria and the caller, Frome.Davis.

 

The in-call list displays details about the call.  First, the user Brander.Maria has the floor, followed by the caller Frome.Davis.

 

The call may end with an idle timeout.  To end the call manually, press the device's physical back button to return to the channels tab, long press on the call, and select "Disable Channel."  The 1:1 call will then disappear from the channels tab.
