Upgrade Paths for D-Pad Devices

D-pad  Sonim and Cat S22 devices require updates to the current 30.1 version of the app.  ESChat Support is ready to assist you with this process. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns regarding this update.

Sonim Devices

All Sonim D-pad devices will need to be updated to 30.0 (build 5112) in order to be on a supported version. This process can be accomplished in two ways:  

Via Sonim Cloud 

Use a Sonim Cloud account. This is a free management account offered by Sonim that will allow you to push out the updates to all your Sonim devices via the air. With this option, the devices will update ESChat automatically on the next refresh cycle with Sonim Cloud. There will be no need to reactivate your devices, and future updates can be managed more smoothly. Sonim is ready to offer assistance, whether you have an existing Sonim Cloud account or need to create one. They can be reached at sonimware@sonimtech.com for assistance.  We recommend using this method.

Via QR Code

You may use a QR code and Sonim Scout, which is already on the devices, to update the app. Whereas a Sonim Cloud account is not required for this method, it does require you to manually update every device. This method will not require reactivation of the app.  If you are interested in this option, please reach out to ESChat at support@eschat.com. 

Cat S22 Devices

If some of your users are operating on Cat S22 D-Pad devices. they will need to be updated to 30.0 (build 4976) in order to be on a supported version.  This can be achieved by having each of your users upgrade via the Google Play Store.  You will not be required to reactivate the app.
