Template for Using Siyata SD7 in Scan Mode
When enabled, the Scan Mode feature on the SD7 allows a user to monitor multiple channels without changing their channel knob selector. When the SD7 is set to an intended channel and not actively transmitting, the user will hear audio from other channels as transmissions occur.
The LED screen on the SD7 will display the channel names as the call transmissions occur. The user may respond to any received transmission. After the PTT key is released, the device will revert back to their original channel once the preconfigured group idle timeout has expired.
If the user is actively participating in a call, no other audio will play from other calls occurring at that time.
Scan Mode can only be enabled and disabled from the Feature Key templates within the admin portal by a listed admin.
Use of Scan Mode on the SD7 requires ESChat app version 5.0 and an Android OS of 12. Please reach out to ESChat Support to verify this information and assistance with updating if necessary.
Adjust Feature Key Template
For best practices, all SD7s should be configured for a specific SD7 Feature Key Template. The default configuration chooses single channel isolation.
All SD7s should be assigned to a template. Since scan mode is not enabled in the default SD7 usage, this setting must be adjusted. To adjust the template, go to the feature key template, and in the PTT Features section, disable the Single channel Isolation key. The key is disabled when there is no check mark on the key.
Once the key is disabled, select Submit to adjust the setting and push the change out to the devices.
