PTT Calls with the Siyata SD7
As this is a dedicated PTT device, the PTT aspect is available regardless of the display focus. Pressing the side PTT button begins a call to the selected channel.
To make a call, press the PTT button. The screen will display "Transmitting" and the channel. Begin speaking after the grant tone. Releasing the PTT button will show "Call Idle" until another channel member takes the floor. Then their user name will display under the selected channel name. A PTT call ends with an idle timeout. |
When another channel member takes the floor, the green light will flash and their user name will display under the selected channel name. A PTT call ends with an idle timeout. |
Emergency PTT Calls
To make an Emergency PTT call, you must first have a configured emergency PTT group in the Admin Portal. Without this configured group, pressing the SOS button on the Siyata SD7 will have no effect. For more information on configuring an Emergency PTT call in the Admin Portal, please click here. To make a call, press and hold the red SOS button to initiate the Emergency call. You must press and hold the SOS button to deescalate the Emergency status and revert to a regular PTT call.
Start at any channel. Pressing the SOS key automatically brings up the configured emergency group. Alternatively, you can rotate through your channels until you reach your emergency channels. An Emergency call is marked by an audio tone and an insistent flashing. The bottom script line also shows "emergency initiated." |
End the emergency status of a call by pressing the SOS button to deescalate the call. The call will continue as a regular PTT call. The display will show the channel name and call idle. The call will now end as normal, in an idle timeout. |
