VM1-S Microphone Setup for ESChat PC Client
The VM-1S™ is a USB microphone specifically designed to work in continuous operation in a dispatch environment. The VM-1S™ uses a high quality Keyboard switch with a RED button for the Push to Talk activation, a close talking 18” Gooseneck microphone and a green LED which indicates power and USB connection.
Download Installer
First, download the installer:

Install the app and accept any default prompts. If the app does not auto-launch after installation, launch the app.
Connect the VM-1S
Plug the VM-1S device is plugged into a USB port. It should appear as a selectable option.
Select the PTTL option.
Select Keyboard key in the Key Alias and then highlight the Press Key box. If there is an editing key sequence there, and it needs to be changed, press CLEAR KEY and then press the key sequence to use on the keyboard. We recommend Control + Alt + ]. Note that Left or Right does not matter for the PC Client.
Configure the PC Client
Open the PC Client and under the ESChat tab, select Options --> External PTT options. Select the Use External PTT Input box. Set the sequence to match chosen "Edit PTTL Key." Optionally, select Disable space bar so that the space bar is not used for PTT in the PC Client.
Accept the changes and test the VM1-S PTT key. Note that once configured, the sequence should work regardless of whether the PC Client is in the foreground or not.
