Resend an Activation Code
The Activation Code is the unique identifier for each ESChat user. This code is necessary for users to sign in to the ESChat application. When this activation code is used, there is an encryption pairing created between the user device and the ESChat servers. If the device has changed or the application has been completely uninstalled from the paired device, the public key must be reset in the administration portal to allow the user to re-register with ESChat. Customer Administrators may clear the public key and resend the activation code, provided that the user is able to receive texts.
Select a user
From the list of users within a department, click on the user who will receive the Activation Code. Make sure the Settings tab is selected in order to view the user information as shown.
Confirm that the user may receive texts
If the user information shows "Send Text : No," then follow the next steps to edit the text option. If the company is not set up to receive texts, enter the code into the device manually. Skip to "Clear Public Key."
Edit the user
Edit the Send Text option
Check the Send Text box and click Submit. This action closes out the window and returns to the User profile.
Clear the Public Key
This breaks the encryption key and allows the user to securely sign back in with the resent activation code.
Edit the User
Return to the Modify User popup window in order to resend the activation code.
Resend Activation
Click on "Resend Activation."
The activation text will be sent to the user. The user may click on the link, and then sign in to the app. They do not need to re download the app provided they already have the app installed on their device. If the user cannot receive texts, once the public key has been cleared, they may type the (not case sensitive) code into their device and press activate.
